I wish we had known this before buying. There is a flap at the bottom for hanging the bag for storage which is NOT shown in the picture. That is where the measurement of the extra 6 inches comes from. There is also a flap at the top to cover over the zipper. That is where the extra 4 inches comes from. The actual sleeping bag is not bad, just a tad small for my young, who was going to use it for a sleepover.
