This review is from: Cold Steel Special Forces Shovel (Cordura Sheath Only) (Sports) This is a very solid case and a must have for the cold steel shovel but it has a major flaw in my opinion. This case should be made to be compatible with pals webbing or Molle compatible which ever term you are more familiar with. Being military I really wanted to strap this shovel to the outside of my pack using the molle platform but that just isn't possible. Even if they used open hole rivets I could have made it work by just tying it off with some 550 cord but again no such luck. Going to take mine in and see if I cant have some straps sewn on to make it molle compatible. Has a belt strap sewn in but really who's going to carry this thing around on a belt. Great idea poor execution. If you choose to sharpen your shovel. It will protect your gear if carried inside the pack. And will protect your pack if attached to the outside of the pack. All in all I am very happy.
