I believe older model vests have omni-shield repellancy. This model vest has omni-wick and omni-shade technologies and does nothing to repel water/stains. I have been wearing it throughout the spring, getting used to its features. It looks as though it will be a near-perfect vest for our overseas trip. It has several pockets of various sizes that are good fits for typical travel items. There is a small pocket, zip closure, on the upper right side that is ideal for my glasses or sunglasses. There is a second small pocket, also zippered, on the upper left side, ideal size for a small wallet. Over it (perhaps on top of it is more accurate)is a small velcroed pocket, also wallet-sized. There are two hand-pockets, one on each side, without closure, and a vertically-zippered pocket over each of those. Each will hold a passport or a map easily. On the inside upper left is a small mesh pocket, no closure, and on the inside lower right is a large mesh pocket, also no closure.The vest itself zips shut and also has metal buttons over the zipper. The very thin material that makes it so lightweight is also a little fragile. The lining is wearing to fast anywhere it rubs against something on your belt like keys, scratchy Velcro or a gun. Also it has separated at two small places on the vertical back seems. Nothing to make me want to send it back but I should not have to be making repairs this soon. |
