The image is wrong. The images displayed is of the Wharncliffe version of the Folts Minimalist, NOT the Bowie version which is model 2387.This knife comes ready to play! It is sharp, fits very well in your hand and inspires confidence, something you should have with a small, sharp knife. My only modification to this knife was to hit it with my stone just because that is what I do and remove the cheesy "paracord" and replace it with a little bit longer piece of true, mil-spec 550 paracord. CRKT knives are always high quality and when it comes to small knives, CRKT does it very well. The knife fits in my medium sized hands find and I also tested it with various winter gloves. The full tang three finger handle felt confident even after I soaped and then buttered up my hand. Nothing worse that cutting yourself in the field. It is NOT the Tanto blade style and it is NOT the Wharncliffe blade style shown in the picture. As J.L Woods fine review also indicates, it IS the Bowie blade version.Read J.L. Wood's review for a great description of this nice knife. The only thing I might add is that it also comes with an attachment that can be screwed to the sheath which allows the sheath to be worn on a 1.5" belt or strap. The attachment can be mounted to the sheath in several ways to allow for various carry/release positions should you choose not to wear it as a necker. P.S. The handle is really the star of this product. It's so comfortable and very sturdy. The sheath comes in a close second as it fits so snuggly yet securely which was a problem for other neck knives I've owned. This thing will never fall out and it would be nearly impossible to accidentally "pull" it out. The paracord is a bit large for the knife but you can easily change it out. The weight is good. It's not too light but not heavy. And the edge of the blade is incredibly sharp right out of the box. All in all this knife is a great buy for anyone who wants a nice neck knife, and it's also pretty handy in a pinch too. I'm considering purchasing the Wharncliffe model and the "Razor" Tanto model as gifts for Christmas. |
