I have always been a person who believes that, whenever possible, one should have first hand experience with any weapon they depend on. Obviously, this doesn't extend to lethal weapons. Having served as an Army airborne infantry soldier, I fully believed that my experience with CS gas prepared me for any form of commercial pepper spray. This led me to inquire with Edward Ferguson, President of Fox Labs, to grant me the opportunity to test their 2%, 5.3 million SHU OC resin spray. As my partner in everything, my wife reluctantly agreed to spray me. Knowing that this was a onetime event, I set up a camera and camcorder to capture the action. We stood about five feet apart, and she carefully aimed the 4-oz fog canister at my face. I gave one last nervous chuckle, and told her to go for it. I should explain that my wife takes her responsibilities very seriously. She sprayed me squarely in the face for about two seconds. This was to be a real test... The 'Fog' spray is perfect, it's not a narrow stream which requires special aim; and it's not a random cloud...As long as you're pointing at the attacker they're getting hit up to 15 feet Whatever you do; get some 'Suducon' decontamination wipes--Lots of them--Don't worry they're cheap...If you do have a 'Mishap' with this stuff you're gonna be hating life...It's pretty nasty Know your local laws !!!
