Several years ago I got a couple of trekking poles and extended my field life as an archaeologist. I wanted the same convenience of using them on concrete sidewalks and asphalt trails. These rubber walking tips, curved as them are rather than flat, are exactly what I wanted. They provide some shock absorption as well. Senior citizens who have not tried using trekking poles when they take their daily walks really should try them. They just help balance and make walking easier. I can really power walk with these tips on my poles. I walk mostly on the sidewalk and my rubber tips lasted one week. Rather than spend up for these I went to Home Depot and bought four 7/8" rubber chair bottoms which slip tightly over the worn rubber tips. Inside each rubber chair bottom I put a penny to stop the trail tip from poking through. These wear more slowly and I rotate them daily to even the wear. They are noticably heavier but since I am out for the excerise I don't mind. And, as they are sold in fours I already have my spare pair in reserve. Artof (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews    These rubber tips fit perfectly on my Black Diamond trekking poles. Walking on paved surfaces was greatly enhanced. Unfortunately, I only got about 5 uses out of the tips before the end of a trekking pole poked through one of the rubber tips. I found it to be a very useful product, but I would have to give it poor marks for durability.
